Christmas season is in full swing. Sparkling lights and Christmas decorations can be seen everywhere and you can just feel the excitement in the air! For us, the season brings with it a lot of traveling. So far, we have been to Circle Craft in Vancouver and to Signature Christmas Shows in Winnipeg and Edmonton as well as to Art Market in Calgary. It’s been an amazing journey and we truly love to connect with our customers (yes, YOU) in person! The shows present a fabulous opportunity to experience our products first hand. You can see the variety of designs, touch and smell the leather and try on different styles to see what suits you best.
This year, we have noticed a new trend: Backpacks are gaining in popularity!
This new trend has been observed by the fashion industry and is backed up by research as well. According to Forbes magazine sales of backpacks to women are up by 15%. This is consistent with the trend in fashion towards outdoor, technical products that focus on features, functionality, materials and an active look.
What’s interesting is that this trend seems to extend to men as well. In a recent article by Wall Street Journal it was noted that executives are ditching their briefcases for backpacks. Backpacks are gaining ground. The author attributes this trend to the fact that backpacks are now available in finely crafted designs in sumptuous leather. Because there are more upscale designs available, the backpack is now boardroom worthy.
From a consumer’s perspective, a backpack is suited very well for today’s multi-tasking needs. You can conveniently store your stuff while leaving your hands free.

As a backpack, the triangle fold is compact and secure, with all of the zippers covered for safety. To turn it into a shoulder bag, simply zip the straps together and use the hooks to secure them on one side of the bag. Fold both flaps to the back or reverse them for completely different looks. Voila!
The front flap comes in solid black leather and is also available with our favourite accents: coloured piano keys or our Siena underlay. The body of the bag is available in solid colours or two-toned.
